Storm Chaser

So I haven't been on here in a while...

Rhythm Express had our 2nd competition of the season last weekend. It was so much fun!! We left school early on Friday, performed that night, got Grand Champs again, watched Pure Elegance kick butt and the Choraliers also win Grand Champs (big surprise :]) the next day, and then left on Sunday. It was crazy...

Um... I put everything basically in that big sentence above and now I can only think of one more thing to say. :(

The Rhythm Express techies, aka me (rrandom), chia, and newbie, finally got our tech shirts!! Since our theme this year is storms, ("riding the strom out" is our opener, "blue skies" is the ballad, "the thunder rolls" is the boy's number, "it's raining men" is our girl's number, and "this joint is jumping" is the closer) our shirts have "Storm Chasers" on the back. They've got a little tornado and some stars and stuff too. :)

So now I'm a Storm Chasing, two time Grand Champian, techie! :p

Catching Up

I haven't been on in a while, other than blogging about Twilight, so here:

A little while ago I learned I was officially a Rhythm Express techie (backstage person) which is oober exciting. Rhythm is one of Fairfield's show choirs. Choraliers and Pure Elegance (the all girls group) are the High School choirs, while Rhythm is for Middle School studentsy people. Their Preview Show was on the 21st and it was totally beast. I'd link to it but it takes a little while to get those up on youtube so past performances will have to do for now. (i'll let you know as soon as they're up.) They're really good though, and you can check out the Choraliers on Saturday, Dec. 6th 1 pm, Liberty Building for the Annual Nativity Display. :D

School's school. My team walked down to McDonald's some Friday ago. It was fun except on the way back we saw 2 dead birds. And it provoked my social studies teacher (which if you knew him, would not be a surprise) to turn to his more teasing side... which isn't hard for him. He's hilarious, though, so it's ok. He kept going up to random students and going "Hey!! Watch out for that bird!!!" causing a lot of people to jump. It was really funny until he threw a piece of bark at me and screamed my name, telling me to watch out. I saw him through something but I still ended up being blond enough to scream and totally freak out. Still, it was oober hilarious.

I babysat and had a band concert and dance which is always fun. I'm excited, for my classes toe shoe number we're doing a Phantom of the Opera medley thingy. And we are going to try to do Taylor Swift's song Love Story next year. :)

We finally reached Thanksgiving Break and it's gone by so fast, I have to go back to school tomorrow. :( Over break, though, I went bowling with some friends, which was fun, even though I got creamed. My friend ended up falling on his face when it was his turn. Don't ask, I don't know how he managed that. But it was hilarious and we got it on video!

We went to the Robertsons for Thanksgiving dinner, like every year. It was awesome. There were crazy amount of people there - like 28 or something like that. But it was beast and yummylicious! :)

Umm... I guess that's about it. Yup.. =D

Nothing Gold Can Stay

nature's first green is gold
her hardest hue to hold
her early leaf's a flower
but only so an hour
then leaf subsides to leaf
so eden sank to grief
so dawn goes down today
nothing gold can stay

That was a poem i had to learn for my english class this year. It's in the book we were reading, The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. The book was ok and i have no clue why i'm posting about it. It was actually pretty good (but kind of random and they say dig a lot because it's a 60's book)so yea.. The movie was really dumb. If you want to know how old the book is, here's a hint: Tom Cruise played Steve, one of the main character's seventeen year old friend.

Hmm.. I don't know what to title this post but happy b-day to me sounds good cuz that's the most important part of it!! :]

Ok so i know i haven't been on in forever.. really sorry about that!!

So what's happening in my life? Well, since April (when i last posted) i've had dance (which is beast! : ]) and school (which is not so beast but it's supposedly "educational"..)

Plus at school i had to take 2 proficiency tests at the end of the year, which sucked! :( which, according to the frowning smiley face, made me sad.. (that's true btw, it did make me sad.) They were in math and science, 2 of my least fav classes.

I was in the Arts Fair for band. I guess it was fun.. Well, it was after we played our music cuz a bunch of my friends and i just wondered around the high school for a while and ended up getting lost at least 6 or 7 times!! It was soo cool!! = )

Happy Mother's Day!! (yea, i missed that very special holiday that is so important to me cuz it's celebrating the wonderful person that is my mom! (do i get brownie points for that?? i guess we'll talk about that later, wink, wink..)

I went to my friends b-day party which was soo fun except i couldn't sleep over cuz it was on a Sat..

Oh yea, my team went to Harbin Park this year for a field trip. It was really fun except that one kid broke his arm playing kickball, another person fractured her ankle playing that same deadly game, and my stomach really hurt after we ate our lunch.. no, actually, it was a little before that, but anywayz.. it's ok though cuz when we got back we watched a movie and the next day my friend gave me a get-well-card that was soo cute and hilarious.. at least to me (it had some inside jokes on it that most people wouldn't get..)

MY B-DAY WAS ON JUNE 1ST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That deserves a lot of exclamation points, trust me!! So, yup, i am finally 13 and i already can't wait to turn 14!

I had a fun b-day.. it was on a Sun so i got to see all my church friends and we skipped all our classes to have a party for me!! Jk, we wouldn't skip Sacrament Meeting!! Lol If you know my parents, you know that's not true, they would never let me skip out on church. (not that i would ever want to..)

As my big BIG present this year i got my ears pierced!!!!!!! Yea for me!!! My dad teases me all the time about it. "Yea, you finally have two holes in your ear!!!" The buttface! Lol I also got my hair cut and now i have side bangs, too!! I think it looks good if you straighten the bangs.. :)

Im supposedly getting other gifts too, but we'll see... Im just kidding, i was there when my mom bought them, but i can't tell you what they are cuz i don't know yet.. cough,cough..

We (Katie, Laura, and i) had our dance recital! It was really fun!! It was also funny cuz near the end our dance teacher walks into the dressing room area and was like "What's going on? The closing is starting like right now!" We were all scrambling around and it probably wasn't our best closing but it was fun..

Our last day of school was on the Mon after that. It would've been on the Fri before that (the day before the dance recital, in case you wanted to know) but we had to make up a day cuz of too many snow days!! It totally sucked!! > ( (does that look like an angry face, i can't tell...)

Happy Father's Day!! Even if it's not as important as Mother's Day (luv ya, papa!! = p) i still care about it.. Lol jk

Im going over to a friends house later this week and then the next day it'll be Laura's 7th b-day. (which she doesn't let anyone forget) So Laura will be 6 (yes, i know i said it will be her 7th b-day and i was right because even though she's only turning six, it was her birthday on the day of her birth, which still counts!! O yea, im smartical!!!) and going into 1st grade, which is just plain freaky.

Nothing else has really happened with me so you have officially been updated about my life!! Yea for you!

I feel like braggin...

In school we have a "top 10" in every academic class. I don't mean to brag (?) but I've been in every list (maybe minus one time on each) except math.. which I've never been on.. but it's o.k. because nobody in pre-algebra (which includes me!) really gets in it because pre-al is harder than the normal math.. besides Julie Donna who always gets in the top 10 because she is freaking amazing in.. every subject known to man.. and a few not.. she's almost like a mini version of papa..
she's that good.. Oh, wait I'm braggin about me...

So, yesterday in Language Arts (I prefer to use the term, "english") I found out that I was number 1!!! Not that I'm surprised.. I'm really smart...

Anyway, I'm excited and I just thought you'd like to be excited with me.. and I wanted to brag!!

Plus, I have all A's...

It's all Greek to me

In school, we've been talking about the Greeks. In history we're learning their history-can you believe it? In english we've started Greek mythology.

I'm posting today to tell you how fantastically crazy some of their ideas were. Let's face it, having a baby born out of your forehead because you ate your pregnant wife is a little far-fetched, even for the god Zeus.

And how a god overthrew his father with the help of his siblings. But then, before he died, his daddy said he'd die the same way. So to prevent this, he ate his kids. Unfortunately, Zeus (one of his sons) decided not to become his papa's dinner and fought back. During the battle, Zeus kicked his daddy's belly and he upchucked his kids. They fought, won, and all is well.

Except for those of us sane people who are thinking what's rolling around in their noggin?

Oh, wait. What was my point?... Did I have a point?

Just proving there are (or were) stranger people out there than me. Ha!
