Ballet and Crayons

Day 2: Your first love

Like I said yesterday, I LOVE dance. I started when I was four and it really is my first love. I did ballet and tap; eventually I added jazz and then when I was eleven I started toe shoes. I plan on having dance as apart of my minor in college, probably something like world dance. This picture was taken two years ago at my last dance recital before we moved. We looked like cupcakes. :P

Oh, also my first crush was in first grade. I liked this boy Austin because he had the 75 pack of crayons with the sharpener and everything! Plus, he was one of the first people I met at the beginning of the year. He lives in my old neighborhood and he rode the bus with me. He also happens to be one of my really good friends now.

Who Loves Me More Than Me?

I love these things. I found two of them (this one and the facebook 50 day picture challenge thing) and I plan to do them both.
I'm a VERY indecisive person. I have to tell you that I have not actually been blogging lately because I simply couldn't choose which one to do first. Why I finally decided on this one was the fact that I actually don't know how to put pictures that aren't on your computer on your computer and then on your blog. So I'm doing this one... except that the first day includes a picture... hmm, that's potentially problematic.... you know what? The more of this I read, the more I realize that I would put a picture (or video) on basically all of these even though they don't necessarily ask for one...
Which is why I will be starting this tomorrow....

Weather Forecast: Blizzard, with a Chance of Sun

Don't be too surprised that I've gotten on here three days in a row. Since we're basically trapped in the house, what else am I supposed to do? :p

So far, we're up to about 2+ feet in the highest snow drifts... that's to Laura's waist! The storm sort of came out of nowhere for us (or me at least). It's so bad, yesterday the van got stuck... All good now, but still.

And then this morning I wake up and the sun is shining! And it's not even snowing anymore! Usually I would be all for the sun (I HATE the cold), but I've never been snowed in before (almost, but not quite) and science fair is this weekend... enough said.

A bit of happy news to everyone else stuck in the snow, though: Happy Groundhog Day! The groundhog saw his shadow!!..... Now we can all relax and start our spring cleaning..... :/

The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock

D&C 50:44. "Wherefore, I am in your midst, and I am the good shepherd, and the stone of Israel. He that buildeth upon this rock shall never fall."

I love this verse. I was reading D&C today and this just popped out at me. It's such a good reminder. That He's always there with you, always taking care of you, never going to be moved, like a giant boulder.

I also love the reminder at the end. Since we hear the analogy about "building our rock on the Redeemer" all the time, I think we sometimes overlook the deeper meaning of it. Verse 44 doesn't say "He that loungeth upon this rock", or "He that vacationeth upon this rock." Building means establishing, increasing, strengthening. We have to work towards something. There's plenty of people who make it to the rock and then just dawdle around.

The primary song doesn't tell us that the winds and the rain only attack the house built on the sand. They beat against us no matter where we are. But we still have to work. Keep trying, and don't give up. That's how we stand without falling. It's not being on the rock, it's building on the rock.

The Awesome List

So, a little bit ago, when Sarah came back from college for Christmas break, we had a date and we went through the billions of old journals that she has. Sarah was a crazy little chica. :p She also told me about her awesome list, basically a list of her blessings, like what my mom does. So, I've decided to adopt this idea for my blog. Sometimes it'll be more like my mom's and sometimes it'll be just things I think are awesome. :)

THE AWESOME LIST:
~ unexpected early-outs :D
~ a French class where I actually learn French
~ being back on my blog
~ blasting music :)
~ chocolate!!!
~ bundling up with tons of blankets when it's raining ice and you're FREEZING! lol
~ Michael Jackson's Rockin' Robin :P

PS~ Katasha, I'm terribly sorry, but this just happened.
